Dear Readers,

What a busy week we had last week; two product launch parties, a fake First Friday, the Sean Brown Valentine’s Day Inspired workshop, plus all the regular work! This week will be less stressful on the event side of the business but we are packing and prepping for Sean Brown to go to Baltimore, MD. He will be showing off his stunning artwork at the AmericanCraft Council at the Baltimore Convention Center. If you are in the area, please stop by and say hello! He will be set up in booth #527 between the 24 and 26 of February. We hope you will come visit as Sean has been working hard designing new patterns and designs for his line of jewelry. On another note, we will be changing our blogging schedule to Mondays only now. Next time we check in, we’ll be in Baltimore!

With the launch of the Pencil Pushers Art & Jewelry line coming up this Friday the 11^th, we are excited to tell you about our custom color program. Not only do we have a variety of color choices available but we can create you a custom piece with up to four of your favorite colors!

Right now we offer Rose, Scarlet, Tangerine, Sunshine, Grass, Cerulean, Ice, Orchid, Violet, Gray, Metallic, and Black & White Photo. We also are offering a special color combination of White and Fire. Fire composes of red, yellows and oranges.

Each of our pieces are individually designed and set specifically to what we think looks the loveliest. As such, there is a lot of variation in each piece due the pencil and how we place it.

This allows for some exciting opportunities for you as the customer because we can custom place any colors you want. You want a neon yellow, periwinkle blue and baby pink? We can do that. Love Italy? Snow Day

We were so pumped up setting up the show yesterday we missed the blog update! It's better this way though because now I can tell you that the show is spectacular. We are really excited to show you what Elyse Rainbolt has set up and designed.

The show has been postponed to next week though. We are going to do the opening reception next week on Friday the 10th. The show has been extended to the 17th, come check it out before the event.

We will also be launching the Pencil Pusher Art & Jewelry line the 10th as well.

The Sean Brown Valentine's Day Inspired workshop has been moved to the 11th now.

Tomorrow, Saturday the 4th, we will be closed.

That's our update, have a wonderful, safe weekend. Enjoy the snow and we'll check back in with you on Monday. We will be updating our site and our Facebook page as well with new information regarding our events.

Hi! I am a recent graduate of the University of Colorado Denver, where I received a BFA with an emphasis in Photography. I’ve flip-flopped between Colorado and the East Coast all my life, and I’m happy to be semi-permanently planted in beautiful Denver. I live with my boyfriend and two cats in the Baker neighborhood, and I love riding my bike, being outside, and looking at and talking about art.

We are so excited to be hosting the launch party of Pencil Pusher Art & Jewelry! It will be held Friday, February 3rd, 2012 in conjuncture with Music.Art.Fashion.Coffee and Santa Fe’s 100th First Friday! The party starts at 4pm and lasts till 9pm.

Renting the Intangible

When renting a space, there are the logistics of what is available and then there are the intangible aspects. We know we have one of the best physical spaces in the Art District but that's not what we are most proud of. Our dedication to you and the success of your event is our utmost concern. We care about making your event as stress free as possible. We guarantee to do everything in our power to take care of you and the needs of your event. When you host at Studio 12 Gallery, we want you to be able to relax and enjoy yourself knowing that if any issues arise, our staff is there to do everything in their power to solve the problem and eliminate your concern.

Our commitment to you is why our Gallery is the venue to rent. It is the intangible that sets Studio 12 Gallery apart from the others.

The Tangible: We have 900 square feet on the main floor and an additional 350 sq.ft loft. Our 14-foot ceilings give the gallery an open feeling and our two large front windows and three skylights allow for an abundance of natural light to flow through the space. We also have track lighting, a fantastic sound system, and free parking.

The gallery comfortably accommodates 60-75 people, less for a seated event.

Pricing begins at $75 an hour for an evening event, special pricing for non-profit.

We have caterers we can suggest and are happy to work with you in detail to make sure your event has everything it needs.

Whether it be a business meeting, networking event or party you’re throwing, our space is the right, unique venue.

We guarantee we will do everything to make sure your event goes smoothly and that you are taken care of. Let us take the stress out of your event.

Music.Fashion.Art.Coffee

First Friday of February is going to be out of this world. Studio 12 Gallery is trying something new and we are so excited to present this show to you.

Elyse Rainbolt, a local artist and fashion designer of FlareandLightning.com, will be putting together a collection on her work and some other local artists. There will be Fashion! Art! Music! and for the coffee connoisseur, a treat for your taste buds.

DJ's BlackAmex will be playing all night.

BlackBlackCoffee will be serving, it's a pop-up coffee bar that only serves the best coffees in the country...black. No cream, no sugar.

The fashion show will have live mannequins wearing outfits designed by Elyse Rainbolt. Her outfits are a creative mixture of hip, artistic and creative

There will also be an installation of original & found art-glass/collage/illustration, and some photography & collages by artists along with a 8mm film.

Hair & Makeup by Bethany Johnson, Models-Bonnie Gregory & Olive Wells. Wood sculpture by Heather DeLonga.

We are very excited to present this show to you. Opening night will be First Friday of February starting at 4pm and the show will be on display until the 10th. The fashion show is will start at 6pm. Can't wait to see you.

Sean Brown Valentine's Inspired Workshop

We are excited to be hosting Sean Browns Valentine’s Inspired Workshop. We had such a great turnout in the Winter Ornament Workshop and strong interest in more, Sean is proud to be offering two sessions Saturday, February 4^th 2012.

Session A will begin at 10:00am and run to 1:00pm.

Session B will start at 1:30pm and run until 4:30pm.

Prices will be $25 per person for first piece and then $10 for any extra piece you care to design.

Sean will be offering two different designs, one larger whimsical heart and a smaller heart with an arrow going through it. This is will come with a necklace, so it’ll be ready to wear!

We are really excited to host this workshop, it’s an adventure down a new path for the Gallery and we hope to be able to keep offering these learning opportunities to you. We love having Sean Brown's Studio here and these workshops are our way of sharing that excitement and joy with you as well. For us, there is something so special about being able to offer this sort of experience to you and the people you love in your life. The Studio workshops offer not only a beautiful piece of artwork you can cherish forever, but also the memory of the day you spent making it.

Colorado Creative Connection

Colorado Creative Connections is a group designed to help artists meet other artists in the community and learn from each other. CCC offers quarterly seminars to help artists learn new techniques and approaches to promoting their artwork.

We are excited to announce the 1^st meet up of 2012! Anne Franklin is presenting on Social Media. It will be a brief introduction as well as a walk through on the different programs available and how to use them successfully. The presentation will focus on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Anne Franklin has been working with social media for a number of years now and has attended many seminars of which she is happy to pass along the information she has amassed. She is well versed in the different platforms and we are excited to have her speak!

It will be hosted at Studio 12 Gallery Saturday, January 21^st from 1pm to 5pm for $20. Please RSVP to save your spot, email Anne Franklin at annefranklindesigns@gmail.com . She will save your name and information and payment can be made at the door day of. Cost of attendance without reservation is $25.

Please bring your laptop, something for taking notes, and business cards. We will be happy to hang some of your work in the Gallery for the seminar if you would like to bring in a piece or two.

Along with emailing Anne to reserve your space, please look into signing up for Pinterest prior to coming to the meeting as it will help you better understand the platform.

We are so excited to be hosting this event, it’s sure to be really interesting, educational and fun. It’s a worthwhile way to spend your Saturday!

With the Holidays over it’s hard to even think about the next round of parties. We all know they are coming up but why dread them? I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about what Studio 12 Gallery can offer you and how we can make your next event worry and stress free.

Our space is dynamic, open and our staff will go above and beyond to make sure that you and your needs are taken care of. Studio 12 Gallery takes a lot of pride in the services that we offer and when we commit to you and your event we truly mean it. The space is beautiful; the art is engaging and changes throughout the year. We can help you plan out food and drink or you are welcome to bring in your own. Plans for the New Year

Happy New Year! We are excited about the different shows and programs we will be presenting this year. We have an exciting fashion art show lined up for February, we are working with the University of Colorado Art Department to host a printmaker from Mexico, there will be an international glass bead show, and so much more! We’re getting excited just thinking about them!

Sean will be offering more classes for painting ceramics as well. Our ornament making workshop gathered so much attention we are working on a new way to offer these throughout the year. The first one will be in February, and we’re excited to see how it goes. More details on that class are on our workshop section of our website.

These are just a few of the plans we have in the works. We welcome the New Year and all the challenges and excitement it is sure to bring. Happy New Years and we look forward to embracing the coming months with you.

Winter Ornament Workshop

Our ornament workshops we held this weekend were fantastic. Thank you to all those who participated, your stars are beautiful! We are firing them in the kiln tonight and will be glazing tomorrow.

There has been a lot of interest expressed for more workshops. We have taken your comments to heart and are currently working to develop some more and possibly some team building classes for groups. We will keep you up to date as these come together.

Local, Local, Local

Studio 12 Gallery has its roots in the Denver Community. I grew up in Denver and love the people places and lifestyle here in Colorado. The gallery shows lots of different art and artists but there is always a local element in every show we do here at the gallery. We believe that there is a huge diverse and talented pool of artists in the Denver metro area and we endeavor to make the gallery a place where these artists can showcase their work.

By supporting local artists, we are also helping build the community and the culture here in our state. The Gallery and Studio are working to help build that energy that defines Denver and Colorado. Walking into Studio 12 Gallery can be a visual “thin slicing” of the Colorado Art and Contemporary Craft.

As a local business, we know that you expect more when visiting us. You know that we hire people who care about the art, the Studio and the Gallery. That in turns means that we will be able to help you with your questions because we have asked the same questions ourselves. Moreover, we want to answer your question because we’d love to talk about our art. It’s our pleasure to make sure you are taken care of. We want to impress upon you the same love for the space that we as its keepers have.

We take it one step farther. Studio 12 Gallery also offers custom framing. This isn’t the sort of framing you get at some big chain. The materials we use are the top of the line and we buy through local distributors. Our mats and boards come from Nielsen Bainbridge out of Arvada and our frames come from Picture Woods out of Boulder. Supporting local artists, and having a customer base that supports us, makes all the difference. The differences are small but over time, they can create an entire movement.

We are proud of artists and the work we show. When you visit Studio 12 Gallery, we hope you can sense that pride. Come visit us and see our collection of Colorado art.

The Holiday Spirit

It's that time again. A time for laughs and hugs, giving to strangers and wishing on stars. A time when you try and squeeze in an extra few good deeds before the new year begins. This year we'd love if you would throw a little love our way.

Every year the Art District on Santa Fe has a Best of 2011. Please nominate Studio 12 Gallery's Dia de los Muertos show and opening for Best of the Arts District 2011. You can also write in your favorite art/artist for nomination!

Small Business Saturday a Success

Small Business Saturday was a great success. Thank you to everyone who came in, it was great meeting new acquaintances and seeing old friends. We ended up selling several art pieces and even had a custom order placed! All in all, a really fantastic day. Thank you for supporting Studio 12 Gallery, you make us possible.

We are looking to forward to First Friday, December 2nd, this week as we are showcasing our Holiday Show. Check back later this week for a blog post about event information and our featured artist Margo Nimon.

2nd Annual Small Business Saturday

This Saturday, November 26^th between 11am and 4pm, Studio 12 Gallery is participating in the 2^nd Annual Small Business Saturday. Created to help recognize and support local small business, we are proud to a part of the movement. Here at Studio 12 Gallery, we will be offering special offers to our customers. We want to help make your holiday exciting and affordable.
